1st Annual Outer Banks Environmental Film Festival Nov. 2-4, Manteo, NC 27954  Presented by the Peace Garden Project

The First Annual Outer Banks Environmental Film Festival, presented by the by Peace Garden  Project in partnership with Dare Arts and the Don and Catharine Bryan Cultural Series, will  take place November 2-4 in Manteo. 

The festival will take place in Downtown Manteo; The program will include panel  discussions, conversations, performances, and screenings of short, feature, and animated  films selected from submissions via Film Freeway. The screenings will take place at Dare  Arts and College of the Albemarle.At the second venue, the College of the Albemarle – there will be a programthat includes  seminars on Environmental topics. The tickets for the screenings range from $10 for  individual screenings and $40 for a day pass, $125 for an all-access pass, and $350 for a  Gold pass. Family passes are also available.  

The 2023 Outer Banks Environmental Film Festival will have a Jury comprised of  environmentalists and student leaders from the Peace Garden Project Youth Leadership  Institute. Jury members are appointed by the festival committee. The 1st Annual Festival will  have 12 Jury members – 6 student leaders and 6 Environmentalists/Filmmakers. The Jury  will review all the films that are in competition and announce the winners of the awards.

 The festival's goal is to raise awareness about environmental issues facing the Outer Banks  and communities across the globe and to raise awareness and inspire film standards for  local, regional, and international filmmakers. Awards will honor the Best animated film, Best  Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Outer Banks Film, best film by an Emerging Filmmaker,  best film by an Indigenous Person, best film by a Black Filmmaker, and the newly added  category Audience Choice. 

All non-English films will have subtitles.
